Is it just me or are things quieter on here. Where are all the fun 'slagging matches'? Have we all become wimps....Dommes included.?... in fact at the head of the queue (hides). 12 of the 30 'threads' on first page are Events.

It's a lack of decent trolls.
They all went off and started Troll Club and the first rule of Troll Club is not to talk about Troll Club, which kind of screwed everything up because you tell a troll not to talk about something and they either explode or talk about it. Both things happened and so the few who did escape the troll slayers (who'd heard about Troll Club and thought it was nice of the trolls to gather in one place for them) then learned the first rule, but due to being depopulated and not being able to talk about Troll Club, they couldn't recruit new members and so any new trolls who come along just haven't had the proper training.
Also I think Peter Jackson has turned a couple to stone.

Think Dougie's right in some respects. Might just be me, but since someone buggered about with site layout, rarely bother to give it much more than a glance. Other than answering memos and keeping in touch with folks I trust. As for wild ding-dongs, shortlist is shorter. Love a good battle, but after 5 years, no more than 3 or 4 members (and 2 couples) I'd like to bury in sand to the neck and then whack 'round the nap with a cricket bat. Yawns...

I agree, I tend to look at IC a lot less since the updates. I find it a lot less user friendly now and often look for specific things rather than just browsing and seeing what is going on.
I still use it to memo and check events though as it is still a great site in this respect.

One reason it seems quieter maybe that Class Act seems to have vanished and people seemed to enjoy spending pages slagging her off. I expect someone'll say something that other people don't like, just give it time, and there are lots of mini arguments on various threads more often than not.

I liked him too. ClassAct was even allright sometimes once you ignored all the repeated garbage - repeatedly.
INHO, it started getting quieter when Admin made the facetiousness rule. We all got quieter then, because noone really wanted any aggro, and a lot of people left then because they said it was too serious.
We are back to the old facetiousness, in part, but I still have it lurking in my brain that the rule is out there (or was that changed to the OP posting to stick on topic?)
btw...It isn't a criticism of the rules, it is just an observation of that is why I went quieter and a lot of other people did too...and I think it just stuck.

There is no need for an apostrophe.
An apostrophe is there to show ownership :-
Mr Dog's postings.
Don't get confused with 'its' and 'it's'. :- here, the apostrophe simple shows a missing letter - so 'it's' means 'it is' with the apostrophe standing for the missing 'i'.
Can you manage it?

Darn you have me banged to writes there,
truth is my grammar was once fine,
although the actual reading my handwriting had never gotten better than a unreadable,
all became difficult after a bad smash in the 70s my imprint left forever in three crack's standing testament to and upon the building of my landing,
many operations and memory lost,
i bought a diaries to write down things to remember after relearning to read again only to find i would have 3-4 dairies on account of forgetting i bought one already,
i can weave you sad tale of woe upon woe could your poor heart stand it,
or would you die of boredom, i suspect boredom,
Frankly it is boring to relate to people that going through a serious smash loosing your marbles finding your marbles but not the full bag you had in the begining followed with endless ops, cronic pain etc, yet housed within this crumbling fortress of ineptitude the mind of a rather brilliant 20 year old,
