Armbinder fabrics.

Posted by You_May_Kiss_My_Ring on Fri 13 Jan 2012 to Do_It_Yourself

I'm in the middle of making some firmer restraints than the shop-bought handcuffs I inherited in a break-up.

I've made some wrist-ankle cuffs from the tough canvas used to make medical straight-jackets in the days they were still used, and now I'm moving to some arm-binders, both a monoglove and a pair of bracers that are linked.

I've got two nice fabrics for them (that are nice and strong), and I'm trying to decide which to use for the lining of the items. One's matt-PVC the other faux-suede. Neither are particularly breathable (although they are a little porous), but they will cause very different sensations over time, and I'm not sure which is better.

Yes, I like my sensuality... ;-)

On the experience of commercial ones,I think you try the second material since it creates very interesting reaction.

Although I personally don't like the look of latex, I do like the feel of it.

So, I guess I would chose latex. Also, the smoothness of it, would be a nice contrast to the inevitability of the armbinders.

I would be very interested in hearing the how-to part of this project btw????

Well, I've made up a bracer style one in the faux-suede off the back of similar suggestions from a sub locally. Personally, having tried it on to test the stitching, I find it chafes a lot, but, then, I've quite furry arms, so we'll see how it works out once I get my "volunteer" to "model" it for photos...

I'm tempted to try the PVC for the mono-glove, based on personal preference were I to be wearing it (heaven forfend!), but I still need to find an outer skin for it, and shoulder straps.
