The quintessential embodiment of Authority and service, yet also just one of the many facets of the Lifestyle which can be invoked for the benefit of the Dominant and the training and usage of the slave / submissive.
Again, as with so many elements of the Lifestyle, based on fact rather than stereotype fiction.
Further to the development of this excellent practice and concept, i wish to respectfully offer some personal observations for those interested in such.
Service, to me, is rendering acts that will enhance the life and status of the Dominant in a practical sense both within the Lifestyle and also in the vanilla lifestyle. i feel this latter aspect is often overlooked i.e. the inclusion of vanilla service within a D/s relationship and indeed by those whose preference is for play in specific areas that hold an appeal, rather than in the broader D/s spectrum. Each to their own of course.
Servitude, on the other hand relates to the forms of training and usage the Dominant elects to utilise and impose as a feature of Authority over those who are subservient.
The two elements are inextricably linked of course, but there is a subtle distinction between the two terms i would venture to sugggest.

The words symbiotic intention come to mind.
I adore this group - it does indeed capture the very essence of traditional service. Like me, some members may have fond memories of the original 70's TV series - quintessential uniforms and attitudes to the service of one's betters.
