Posted by raining_girl on Sat 21 Jul 2007 (modified Sun 22 Jul 2007) to the Dictionary web board

Articles on wrist and vagina were named in the original thread title, but I changed it when I realised how deep the problem actually is.

Hmm. Unless there's going to be definitions of ankles and knees and thighbones, and where will it stop?

I like my vagina, can I keep it?

And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.

I think I kept your vagina, but redirected your wrist.

Clearly, it's in your interest not to annoy other users of IC by felching the wanking barfs or weblogs with ads.

how about this interesting insight?

"Breast, in the context of BDSM and fetish, normally refers to a woman's mammary glands or 'tits' (which should, strictly speaking, be spelt 'teats' even when pronounced 'tits')."

Edited to add this further gem, also from Breasts....

Women can be insecure about their breasts, and it is not uncommon for women who are unhappy with their size to seek surgery to reduce or enlarge their breasts artificially, even though many men actually state a preference for medium-sized and most men state they prefer natural of any shape and size to false.

I'd edit that to read:

Women should be insecure about their breasts, and it is common for women who are obviously undersized to have surgery to enlarge their weeny breasts. There is a myth that many Real Men state a preference for medium-sized and most Real Men state they prefer natural of any shape and size to false. This is clearly wrong.

there's also one for balls.

I'm not convinced about body parts being in a BDSM dictionary... They're hardly exclusive to kinksters, eh?

I think if you have to look up a dictionary to find out what a cock or cunt is it's time to get worried!

There are definitely a lot of references to entries which have no place in a BDSM dictionary (if people really really want to link to more information about what a vagina might be there's a perfectly good article in the Wikipedia ;) )

If it's just an about= link, then removing that link is enough.

If there is an entry, then we do need to have some kind of thread (like this one, thanks :) ) to highlight them. Hopefully, we can sort this out relatively quickly.

Tanos

Some very poorly-informed person went on a rampage in the dictionary about how Muhammad's wife was supposedly named "Kajira" (in fact, she was named Khadijah). I fixed the text of the article Kajira, and redirected two stupid one-sentence disinformation stubs to the (non-existent) dictionary entry "Khadijah", but I couldn't edit a third disinformation stub (probably because it has a special character in the title). All three disinformation stubs should be deleted (see dictionary "M" entries listing, page 2).

"Stuff people do" is a London Fetish Scene internal administrivia page which is technically located on Wipipedia, but is not really part of it as far as subject matter. Since the last substantive edit was in 2005, it's likely quite out of date. Not sure why we have to have a copy of it here...

I'd like to propose http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/dictionary/Unfu... for oblivion. The entry body is a single word and the title word seems (says Google) to exist nowhere else.

'They weren't dreams like ours (in the midst of the darkness, we dreamed of more darkness, because nothing else came into our minds); no, she dreamed - from what we could understand of her ravings - of a darkness a hundred times deeper and more various and velvety.' (Qfwfq)

The intended purpose seems to have been to explain a typo. Not sure why that would be really needed...

By the way, longstanding problematic entries "Mohammed's wife was called Kajira" and "Stuff people do" are still undeleted.

Submissive is mysteriously duplicated as SUBMISSIVE WOMAN WANTED.

'They weren't dreams like ours (in the midst of the darkness, we dreamed of more darkness, because nothing else came into our minds); no, she dreamed - from what we could understand of her ravings - of a darkness a hundred times deeper and more various and velvety.' (Qfwfq)

I would presume that "SUBMISSIVE WOMAN WANTED" was at one time a personal advertisement (or intended to be such)...

It can't have been a very successful one; the body text has always been a duplicate of Submissive, according to the history page.

Then again, here's another one: http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/dictionary/Tall...

Edit: at least http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/dictionary/As_a... presumably isn't an advert for anything...

http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/dictionary/Tech... is a leftover from Wipipedia.

Speaking of Wipipedia, we don't support the wikipedia: handler, and that causes problems. I've unbroken as much as possible for now, and the following are of questionable use:

http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/dictionary/Shor...

http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/dictionary/Wiki... (and arguably the entry on milking I created as an offshoot)

http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/dictionary/Wiki...

http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/dictionary/Wiki...

E.t.a.: we can probably also live without http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/dictionary/p/

E.t.a.: and spot

And http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/dictionary/asig... - or if someone wants to write some content for it, the spelling ought to be corrected.

http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/dictionary/Blog... redirects to an entry that doesn't exist.

http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/dictionary/Ever... has no content.

'They weren't dreams like ours (in the midst of the darkness, we dreamed of more darkness, because nothing else came into our minds); no, she dreamed - from what we could understand of her ravings - of a darkness a hundred times deeper and more various and velvety.' (Qfwfq)

Here's something from a spammer: http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/dictionary/BDSM... (The actual entry is a duplicate of BDSM Roles.)

Another proposal: depends.

An advert: http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/dictionary/Huma...

'They weren't dreams like ours (in the midst of the darkness, we dreamed of more darkness, because nothing else came into our minds); no, she dreamed - from what we could understand of her ravings - of a darkness a hundred times deeper and more various and velvety.' (Qfwfq)

Do we keep http://www.informedconsent.co.uk/dictionary/seag... (and fix the broken redirection, etc.) or is it more Urban Dictionary's territory?
